Light Expert Hella Expands its LED Street-Lighting Range
Two new luminaire types added to the Eco StreetLine family - World premiere at the Light + Building exposition in Frankfurt, Germany
Article of 12.04.2010
Lippstadt/Frankfurt, April 2010. Light specialist Hella will be at this year's Light + Building exhibition, the largest exhibition for architecture and technology in the world, to be held from 11th to 16th April in Frankfurt/Main (Hall 5, Booth C44), presenting even two world's firsts. For the first time, the company will introduce two additions to its innovative LED street-lighting family "Eco StreetLine": the new case luminaire "Eco StreetLine Case" and the park light "Eco StreetLine Park".
The case luminaire Eco StreetLine Case features a variable mounting design so that it can be used as top- and side-mounted post luminaire. It is especially suited for higher light points at a height of 6 to 10 meters. This makes it perfect for illuminating commercial zones, industrial areas, bypass roads, and highways. The luminaire itself consists of four independent LED modules adjusted for the light classes ME3 - ME6. By varying the arrangement of the flexible lens system inside the module, numerous different light distributions can be achieved, and also its tilt angle can be adjusted (plus/minus 15 degrees). Moreover, the luminaire can be switched to dimming at half its regular power consumption.
The Eco StreetLine Park is also a top- and side-mounted post luminaire; it is suited especially for illuminating parks and bicycle paths. The luminaire has an LED module adjusted for the light classes S5 and S6. Two module types allow creating an asymmetric light distribution either parallel or vertical to the lamp body as required. This luminaire also can be dimmed to 50 per cent its regular power consumption.
The new LED street lights from Hella feature the typical advantages of the "Eco StreetLine" family. Cost saving through lower power consumption, a design optimised in terms of maintenance, reduced CO2 emissions, and timeless styling are clear benefits of these luminaires. Besides the different types of luminaires, Hella offers all its luminaires in two different light colours - cold white (approx. 5,300 Kelvin) and a slightly warmer neutral white (approx. 4,300 Kelvin).
Already Hella's first model of the "Eco StreetLine" series, the post-top luminaire Eco StreetLine Square, had caused a big sensation. In fact, this luminaire, although on the market only since late 2009, has received numerous awards, for example, on the Lightfair exposition in Warsaw in March 2010 as "Best Product of the Fair" and "Most Innovative Product for the Polish Market". In addition, the luminaire was awarded a third place in the German government's "Energieeffiziente Stadtbeleuchtung" (Energy-efficient Street-Lighting) competition in 2009. More than 1.000 luminaires of this model have been installed throughout Germany in the meantime.
