Before going on holiday, cars should therefore be thoroughly checked to avoid any unpleasant surprises when travelling. Have stone impacts, gravel or frost damaged the headlight covers? That would pose a safety risk, since even the smallest cracks can allow water and dirt to penetrate, which would damage the reflector and impair both the illumination of the road and general visibility. By the same token, the taillights, brake lights, front and rear fog lights, headlight washer system (where installed) and the lamps could also be damaged.
